Philippa and Michael - Part 2 - Grittleton House

For many couples who chose to go ahead with smaller-than-they-would-have-liked ceremonies last year, they decided to also organise a second, larger celebration for when restrictions were finally lifted.

And that’s exactly what Philippa and Michael chose to do.

After getting married in Calne last year, they had postponed their reception at Grittleton House to 2021 and decided to include a wedding blessing at the start of the day.

To make it even more poignant, I was excited to find out in the run up to the big day that they would have a new arrival with them - their newborn son who was only a couple of weeks old! It made the day all the more special as, for many of their friends and family, this was the first time that they had got to meet the new baby!

It’s not often that the Groom helps the Bride into her dress but, with them already been married a year and with a newborn to attend to, the morning preparations were a little different to the norm! After a few photographs of them as a new family, it was time for the blessing which was led by the very Vicar that had married them 12 months previously.

With the sun shining and without the added pressure of getting their vows word perfect (as is required during the legal wedding ceremony), there were smiles and laughter all around. It really was just a huge celebration and the day was filled with happy conversations and emotional hugs wherever I looked!

Below you will find a small selection of images from the day. To view the full gallery, please head here (the password can be obtained from Philippa or Michael).
