Amy and Henry - Grittleton House

I found myself at Grittleton House quite a number of times this year. It’s always lovely to be back at a venue which I know like the back of my hand but it’s also nice to have a new element thrown into the mix. For Amy and Henry’s wedding, that came in the form of Grittleton Church.

Although I have photographed lots of weddings at Grittleton House, this was the first opportunity that I have had to photograph a ceremony at the village Church and it was lovely! After a beautiful ceremony which included some amazing singing by Henry’s brother, we all simply sauntered back across the road and in through the Grittleton House side gate!

After the obligatory confetti and formal photos, I stole Amy and Henry away for their couples photos. They had already requested in advance to take some photographs down by the pond at Grittleton House. This involved liaising with the venue staff to ensure that the gates were unlocked as, by all accounts, this was the first time that a Bride and Groom had requested access to the pond! I was therefore already aware that there was going to be a “fishing” connection. I was unprepared, however, for how in-depth they would go with the whole fish theme. The tables were named after fish, there were fish-shaped chocolates on the sweet table, fish-shaped biscuits as favours and framed fish puns absolutely everywhere! It was so much fun and certainly put a smile on my face every time I spied a new fish-connection!

Continuing to make their wedding truly personal and unique, I gave a cheer when I realised that Amy had decided to give her own speech during the wedding breakfast. After listening to the rest of the speeches (one of my favourite parts of the day) I left them to their food and to their continued celebrations.

Below you will find a small selection of images from the day. To view the full gallery please head here (the password can be obtained from Amy or Henry).
