Kate and Anthony - A Marquee Wedding in Marlborough
When I arrived to photograph Kate’s preparations, it was raining cats and dogs! After spending a bit of time capturing photos of her and her bridesmaids, it was still raining heavily when I headed to the Church to catch up with Anthony! But then, miraculously, by the time the ceremony was over, the rain had cleared and the rest of the day remained (more or less) rain free and even sunny at times!
It seems to have been a pattern at many weddings this year - rain has been forecast but it has stopped just at the right time ensuring that drinks receptions can be enjoyed outdoors (as well as giving us the chance to capture the formal photos).
So, after a beautiful ceremony, it was dry enough for Kate and Anthony to enjoy their confetti run (and boy was there a lot of confetti!) before we all took a short 2-minute drive back to their family farm where a marquee had been set up in the garden.
It looked so pretty with all of the bunting, milk churns of flowers, hay-bales, festoon lighting as well as the colourful row of tractors that we just had to use for a few photos!
After some pretty epic food, which was all cooked on a fire pit in the open air in full view of the guests, it was time for the speeches. They were funny, poignant and emotional but the biggest surprises came in the form of the maid of honours (both of them) standing up to deliver a speech as well as the surprise Deliveroo that appeared at the end of the Best Man’s speech!
