Anya and Jordan - Abbey House Malmesbury
It certainly has been a busy time for weddings, especially as restrictions have now been lifted regarding guest numbers and wearing masks.
As it stood, Anya and Jordan’s postponed wedding fell on the final day before all of the restrictions were removed. Thankfully, it didn’t make too much difference as they had already been planning an intimate ceremony followed by food and then an early departure (hence, no dance floor required!). The only restriction that really impacted on their day was the requirement for face masks to be worn during the ceremony.
As soon as I arrived, I noted that there was a strong book-theme scattered throughout their decorations. From their table centres to the bunting and even the cake! It was then that I understood why they had decided to get married in the Library on one of the hottest days of the year (to be fair, their original wedding was due to take place at the very start of Spring)!
It was actually a welcome change to be in the cool for the ceremony. As we headed outdoors for the formal photos, the sweltering heat was very nearly too much and so I opted to give the guests a chance to have drink before I asked them to line up for the formal photos.
Ducking back inside the cool of the Library, I grabbed some photos with Anya and Jordan before we tried to locate some hidden shady spots around the gardens for some more portraits. After that, it was simply a case of grabbing a few photographs of their reception room, as well as the obligatory cutting-of-the-cake photo, before I left them to their celebrations.
Below you will find a very small selection of my favourite images from the day. To view the full gallery, please head here (the password can be obtained from Anya or Jordan).
