Lucy and Matt - a family-filled Wedding near Devizes

I was so excited for Lucy and Matt’s wedding. It was taking place on Lucy’s Aunt and Uncles Farm which they had kindly showed me around during their pre-wed shoot. It was the perfect blank canvas for their Wedding and I couldn’t wait to see how they had transformed the space. Suffice to say, it didn’t disappoint! Decked out with festoon lights, huge vases of flowers, long trestle tables and a whole multitude of other little details, it looked AMAZING! There was even a horse-box Photo Booth which housed their guest book and a bell-tent village where the Bride and Groom as well as some of their guests would be spending the night.

Of course, first came their ceremony which took place in nearby Urchfont. Thankfully, I was accompanied by Nick Spratling who helped me capture a second viewpoint on proceedings. Churches are always tricky places to try and capture multiple angles - as the photographer you normally end up being at the front throughout or at the back throughout (depending, of course, on the layout of the Church). With two photographers in attendance, we were able to capture two different angles ensuring we didn’t miss a single moment.

After a quick jaunt down to the duck pond for some photographs, we all headed back to the Farm. Except, that was, for the Bride and Groom who were taken on a detour to greet a horse and cart that had been arranged for them as a surprise. Thankfully, I’d been given the heads up so I was able to meet them when they arrived. Lucy’s face was a picture - they had absolutely no clue that this was going to be happening!

From there we all headed on to the Reception where, due to it being one of the hottest days of the year, I found the guests sheltering in whatever shade they could find! Lucy and Matt arrived a short time later, much to the surprise of their guests who also had no idea that they would be arriving by horse and cart.

Formal photos out of the way, the drinks started flowing and amazing food was served. The speeches were poignant but also very amusing, especially when Matt revealed the story of the shower in the show home! The speeches were rounded off by a very emotional video-message from Lucy’s brother who, unfortunately, had not been able to attend because he was isolating.

As the sun started to go down, the whole setting took on a new magical feel as the fairy lights were switched on and the band started playing. I left Lucy and Matt celebrating with their closest friends and family, enjoying cocktails and partying the night away.

Throughout this blog post you will find a very small selection of my favourite images from the day (with two photographers, we took A LOT!).
