Widbrook Grange Wedding Photography - Mandy and Kevin

Let me tell you a story.

I was sitting in my office one random Friday afternoon when I received a phone call from a photographer friend of mine asking if I was available the next day to photograph a wedding!

It turns out that the person lined up to shoot the wedding had been taken ill and so the word had been put out to find a replacement.

The details went from person to person to person and within 2 hours, I was booked, the invoice was paid and I headed home to print the details form, charge my camera batteries and pack my camera bag ready for the next morning.

It reminded me how much I love this industry.

Firstly, I was just so grateful that I was available to step in and capture the day to ensure the couple had some wonderful memories to look back on.

Secondly, community will always win over being super-competitive with other photographers. Over the years I have built up strong links with other photographers who I will always help out if I am able to. I know, in return, they would do the same.

And so, let me tell you a little more about Mandy and Kevin’s wedding which took place at Widbrook Grange in Bradford on Avon.

I arrived in time to capture some photos of Mandy’s preparations as well as grab detail photos of the ceremony set-up which was to happen outdoors. I also caught up with Kevin to photograph him with his Groomsmen and also to grab some photos of the incredibly cute ring-bearer (see below)!

After the ceremony Mandy and Kevin made their exit in a cloud of confetti and led their guests back to the main house for drinks and canapés. Before too long we launched into the formal photos and I also managed to sneak the happy couple away for some portraits. We started by taking some photos with their ring-bearer and quickly migrated to photos on the space hoppers - so much fun!

It was a lovely family-filled celebration and everyone was so friendly. I stayed with them until they took their seats for the wedding breakfast, managing to squeeze in a few mock-cake-cut photos before a left them to their celebrations.
