The Pear Tree, Purton - The Wedding Celebrations of Megan and Lukas

I had been looking forward to the wedding of Megan and Lukas for such a long time. We’d been on a rather long journey together. They booked me back at the start of 2020 and over the course of the following months they made the decision to postpone their wedding until February of 2022. We’d kept in touch regarding their plans and had even met up for a pre-wedding photoshoot when we were able to do so. So when it was confirmed that they would be going ahead with their celebration this year, I was so happy for them.

Unfortunately, Covid had one more trick up it’s sleeve and I unfortunately tested positive just a week before their wedding. Having already put procedures in place just in case they were required, I was quickly able to line up an associate photographer who was happy to be on standby in case I couldn’t attend the wedding.

So what exactly is an Associate Photographer? Essentially, it is a photographer that attends the wedding and takes the photographs on my behalf. The photos are then forwarded to me so that I can edit and deliver them in the “Copper and Blossom” style.

As much as I wanted to photograph Megan and Lukas’s wedding myself, I was still testing positive 24 hours before their wedding. Thankfully I had been able to enlist the help of Matt Fox, a fantastic wedding photographer who I knew would approach the day in a similar style to me. I knew that Matt would do a great job and I had every confidence that he would seek out the details and capture all of the important moments just like I would have done.

I have to say that it was really interesting and actually a lot of fun looking through the images when I came to edit them. Seeing the event through another photographers eyes gave me more of an insight into how my clients must feel when they receive their images from me.
