Oxleaze Barn - Jennifer and Michael

Jennifer and Michael’s wedding represented two “firsts” for me - it was the first time that I had visited Stanton House Hotel (where Jenni was getting ready) and it was also the first time that I had photographed a wedding at Oxleaze Barn.

After meeting up with Jenni and Michael for coffee a few weeks previously, I was excited to hear about the other suppliers they had chosen and, consequently, was eager to see all of their plans come to life on the day of the wedding.

Taking place in March, you can never really predict what the weather is going to do but, thankfully, Jenni and Michael had got extra lucky with a beautiful sunny day (even if it was a little chilly)! Arriving at the barn I was greeted by masses of gorgeous flowers and a picture-perfect cake. With the guests starting to arrive, I managed to capture lots of candid photographs as they made their way into the barn. It then wasn’t long before Jenni arrived and the ceremony could begin.

It really was a lovely ceremony with Jenni and Michael choosing to light candles to represent the coming together of their two families. After the wedding schedule was signed we all headed outside for confetti and then, in a slight break from tradition, the happy couple decided to cut their cake before leading their guests back into the barn for welcome drinks.

The rest of the afternoon flew by in a haze of formal photos, a wander around the gardens for some couples portraits before afternoon tea was served. It was then time for the speeches - emotional and funny, just as they should be - before the sun started to set. Jenni and Michael chose not to extend their photographic coverage into the evening so after I had grabbed some twilight photos and managed to coax some guests to toast marshmallows over the fire pit, I said my goodbyes and left them to their celebrations.

It was a beautiful day full of laughter and organised to perfection. It was really lovely to be able to share in their celebrations. Below you will find a very small selection of images from the day. To view the full gallery, please contact Jenni and Michael for the access link.
