Natalie and Peter - Larmer Tree Gardens

I have wanted to photograph a wedding at Larmer Tree Gardens for such a long time so when Natalie and Peter booked me I was over the moon.

When their day finally arrived, it was foggy. And I don’t just mean a little misty, it was Foggy (with a capital “F”!). It certainly made the drive to Shaftesbury a little more interesting and I purposely left a little earlier than planned just in case the roads were a little slower because of it. Thankfully, I arrived in plenty of time to capture both Natalie and Peter getting ready at the hotel before we all set off for the gardens.

Miraculously, just a few hundred metres from the Gardens (or at least that’s how it felt), the fog dissipated to reveal a beautiful, sunny day. And thats pretty much how it remained! I think we all breathed a sigh of relief when we saw the sun appear as Natalie and Peter’s ceremony was to take place outside in front of the picturesque Roman Temple.

With freely roaming Peacocks and vast lawns with beautiful backdrops, it really is an amazing place for a wedding.

Following the emotional ceremony which involved lots of happy tears, Natalie and Peter departed through a cloud of confetti to lead their guests into the drinks reception. Making the most of the beautiful weather, the guests enjoyed their drinks on the lawn whilst playing giant Jenga, bouncing on space hoppers and challenging each other to Croquet and Badminton.

After sneaking the Bride and Groom away for some portraits, it was then time for the wedding breakfast in the Pavilion. I made the most of the break by taking another wander around the gardens and was excited to stumble across the two resident Parrots who were starting to roost high up in the trees! I mean, there aren’t many wedding venues that can boast such residents!

Speeches complete (including an emotional one from the Bride herself), it was time to move into the Jubilee Hall for the evening celebration which began with the cutting of the cake and the first dance and included a fire-pit for s’mores (an excellent idea if you ask me!).

Below you will find a small selection of images from the day. To view the full gallery, please head here (the password can be obtained from Natalie or Peter).
