Lauren and Ben - Intimate Roman Baths Wedding

After postponing their wedding by three months and then drastically cutting down their guest list to fit in with current government guidelines, Lauren and Ben were finally married at a very intimate celebration at the beautiful Roman Baths. They had an amazingly sunny day without a cloud in sight and the Baths themselves made the perfect backdrop for their micro-wedding.

I joined them for their arrival at the Baths and it was so lovely to finally be able to say “hello” in person after communicating mainly via email and Zoom calls in the run-up to their ceremony. Their wedding was the first wedding I had photographed this year so I definitely felt the pressure! I felt a little out of practice having not photographed a wedding for five whole months in which time the wedding guidelines have changed. During that time, the industry has also seen the removal of the traditional “register” so I was a little unsure what to expect during that part of the ceremony.

I needn’t have worried - the Registrar and Celebrant were amazing and talked me through everything, even allowing me free reign to move around the venue as long as I kept socially distanced and wore my mask when required. I have to say, I am really loving these smaller, more intimate weddings and Lauren and Ben’s celebration was the perfect event for me to kick off what is looking likely to be a very busy wedding season ahead!

Below you will find some of my favourite photos which I feel sum up the atmosphere of Lauren and Ben’s wedding.
