Grittleton House Wedding Photography - Jennifer and Ian
I am always excited when I am booked to photograph a wedding at Grittleton House and for Jenni and Ian it was destined to be a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the weather was warm and the day ahead contained lots of laughter, mini-golf, a horse, a dog and lots of coffee!
Jenni and Ian had opted to have a second photographer and I was delighted when Matt Fox agreed to join me. It meant that I was able to leave Matt taking photos of Ian and the guests arriving while I joined Jenni upstairs with her bridesmaids. Not only did Bridal prep gave me the chance to get to know Jenni and her bridesmaids a little more before the rest of the day unfolded, it also gave me the opportunity to get some detail photos of Jenni’s bouquet, her (amazing!) shoes and the wedding rings.
Accompanied by her brother, son and bridesmaids, Jenni shortly made her way to the Orangery to meet Ian for their ceremony. In a really lovely touch, their dog Dougie was ring-bearer.
One of the most poignant parts of the day was immediately after the ceremony. Whilst their guests were treated to iced coffees in the bar, I headed outside with Jenni, Ian and their son to greet their horse Andy! Andy had been brought along specifically to see Jenni and Ian on their wedding day and to say that it was an emotional moment would be an understatement!
After spending some time with Andy, it was soon time to say goodbye to both him and Dougie and head out to the Italian Gardens where Jenni and Ian had chosen to do a bubble-run rather than the traditional confetti toss. It was a LOT of fun and the guests certainly seemed to enjoy it.
It was then time for the formal photos and whilst I was busy with the Bride and Groom, their guests were kept entertained by mini golf on the lawn all while my second shooter captured lots of candid photos.
I loved how there was a coffee theme running through the day. As I already mentioned, the couple had chosen to serve iced coffees during their drinks reception - delicious! - but their favours were coffee-themed, their table centres (which doubled as decoration during the ceremony) contained masses of coffee beans and their table names were also based on different types of coffee.
Before long, it was time to cut the cake and kick off the evening party with the first dance. Needless to say it was a rather EPIC day which was reflected in the huge number of images that I edited for their gallery!
Below you will find a very small selection of my favourite images from the the day. To view the full gallery, please contact Jenni or Ian.
