Grittleton House - Anabel and Guy
Oh my goodness, I have photographed some AMAZING celebrations out at Grittleton House this year and Anabel and Guy’s wedding was no exception. Meeting up with them a few weeks beforehand (during their pre-wedding photoshoot) gave me some additional insight into their plans. It was to be a jam-packed, family-filled celebration. With so much going on, they had asked me to not just stay until the first dance but right up until the last moment when the Bride and Groom made their departure.
In a slight change to most of the events I shoot at Grittleton, Anabel and Guy were first having a Church service before returning to Grittleton for their reception. Arriving to capture the final parts of Anabel’s preparations, they had worked time into the schedule for Anabel to spend a bit of time with her parents and bridesmaids (and receive a blessing from her parents) before she greeted her friends and family and then headed off to the Church.
The service was poignant and beautiful with some lovely readings and holy communion being delivered to those who chose to receive it.
It was a blazing hot and sunny day so the formal photos were dealt with quickly so that everyone could retreat to the shade and allow Anabel and Guy to make their exit through a cloud of confetti!
After a leisurely drive back to Grittleton (and an additional detour to allow guests the time to get back to the House ahead of us) Anabel and Guy made their grand entrance via the Sunken Gardens to the cheers and applause of their guests. It was then a non-stop whirlwind of welcome drinks, hugs, photos, happy smiles and laughter before the guests took their seats for the Wedding Breakfast.
The evening continued with emotional speeches, the cutting of the cake and the first dance and also included a surprise performace of a song by Anabel’s close family. It barely felt like any time had passed before Anabel and Guy were saying their goodbyes and their guests were gathering on the terrace to see them off with a sparkler exit.
A fitting end to what had been an EPIC day!
Below are just a few of my favourite images from the day. To view the full gallery, please contact Anabel or Guy for the access details.
