Bowood Hotel Wedding Photography - Becky and Andy
Becky and Andy initially contacted me more than a year ago after I had been recommended to them by Judy from Blooming Chic. After hearing about their plans, I was so excited when they decided to book me to document their special day at Bowood Hotel.
In contrast to most other weddings, Becky and Andy had been doing most of their planning from afar having moved abroad a year ago. That meant that I didn’t actually meet them in person until the day of their celebration! Of course I had absolutely nothing to worry about - they were both so welcoming and kind-hearted and it was a real privilege to spend the day with them and their guests.
I arrived just as the finishing touches were being put to their ceremony set-up (the flowers were just amazing!) and, after grabbing a few detail shots, I headed over to the hotel to greet Becky and photograph her final preparations.
Before too long I was back in the Kerry Suite photographing the arrival of their guests before they all took their seats for the outdoor ceremony. Becky and Andy were, technically, already married which meant that they had free rein to put their own personal touches to the ceremony. With a friend overseeing the ceremony and personalised vows written by Becky and Andy, it was no surprise that there were more than a few emotional tears shed during the service!
The celebrations continued with a drinks reception where the guests enjoyed music provided by Charles and the Cellist. And then, just before everyone headed in to the wedding breakfast, an impromptu rendition of “Sweet Caroline” commenced as a surprise for Andy - it was really amusing to watch many of the guests gather at the top of the steps singing back down to Becky and Andy!
It was then time for the speeches (both amusing and emotional) and the cutting of the cake before the guests had a bit of downtime before the evening party.
And what a party it was! The 11-piece band House of Ellington certainly got the party started and the dance floor was constantly full. That is, it was until we all braved the rain to head outside for sparklers and fireworks.
What an epic day! It was beautiful, emotional and such a fun day to be a part of.
Below you will find a very small selection of my favourite photos from the day. To view the full gallery, please contact Becky or Andy.
