Megan and Liam - Cripps Barn

Boy have I been on a rollercoaster of a ride with Megan and Liam!

Their original wedding was due to take place in March 2020 which means that they were one of the first unlucky couples who had to scramble to change their plans as soon as the first lockdown was announced! I can’t even begin to imagine the stress that this caused them.

Luckily, they were able to postpone their date but I was already booked! It therefore unfortunately looked like we would have to part ways - I paid them back all of their money and we moved on. Of course, with COVID restrictions changing on a seemingly daily basis, I soon found that my calendar opened up again so I contacted Megan and Liam to let them know and was amazed to hear back that they still wanted me to shoot their wedding! I was so happy that we were able to reconnect and, after a second postponement and then a final change of date (this time to bring the wedding forward as Megan had found out that she was pregnant!), the day was finally upon us!

I started my coverage at Megan’s Mum’s house where Megan and her bridesmaids were getting ready. We then travelled up to the Cotswolds (driving through a couple of epic rain showers en route!) to arrive at Cripps Barn where the entire celebration was due to take place.

I have to admit that I have a bit of a soft spot for Cripps Barn. It’s where my sister got married so I always enjoy the opportunity to revisit.

I arrived to find Liam welcoming their guests and I busied myself taking lots of photos of everyone arriving as well as capturing all of the little details (one of my favourite parts!).

It was certainly a changeable day weather-wise so, even through Megan arrived during a heavy rain shower, the sun was shining brightly as she made her entrance into the barn.

After an emotional ceremony, we all ventured out to the back field to witness an exciting gender-reveal in the form of a coloured smoke bomb - it’s going to be a girl! Lots of happy cheers and emotional hugs followed before we headed back up to the barn to continue the celebrations.

After being on such a journey with this couple, I was so happy that I was able to document their special day. And it was made all the more poignant because it represented my last wedding of 2021! What a year it has been!

Below you will find a small selection of photos from the day. To view the full gallery, please head here (the password can be obtained from Megan or Liam).
