I had been looking forward to Lucy and Simon’s Wedding from the moment they had first contacted me!

As it turned out, I had to keep my excitement at bay for longer than I had been expecting as they were yet another couple who’s plans not only got delayed because of Covid but they also had to scramble to find a new reception venue when their original venue unexpectedly closed down!

But their day finally arrived and I headed into Bath for my earliest start of the year! They had opted for a sunrise ceremony at the historic Roman Baths which meant a particularly early start for Lucy and her bridal party. I joined her mid-way through her preparations and was excited (and very privileged) to be on hand for Lucy and Simon’s “first look”. They had chosen to meet each other before the ceremony and make the most of Bath being very quiet at that time in the morning and have some photographs taken in an empty Abbey courtyard - a brilliant decision if you ask me (despite my early start!).

After their emotional first look, we snuck off to the Abbey for the photos whilst their guests congregated at the Roman Baths.

Their ceremony was very intimate and emotional with their children acting as bridesmaids, groomsmen and ring bearer. Lucy’e eldest son also had the important job of escorting her down the aisle. It was all so beautiful!

The ceremony was followed by breakfast (literally, breakfast!) in the Pump Rooms after which we travelled back to Stanton Manor in Chippenham where Lucy and Simon were joined by additional guests for their reception.

Unfortunately, the weather decided to play games with all day and we were kept on our toes having to dodge the intermittent showers for the formal photos and confetti throw. Not that it really mattered - we had plenty of time between the drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening party to do so!
