Penelope and Oli - Elmhay Park

When Penelope and Oli got in touch to discuss their wedding plans, I was excited to hear that they were getting married at Elmhay Park in Frome, a venue that I was aware of but one that I hadn’t photographed before.

I was therefore very excited when they confirmed their booking - we even managed to arrange to undertake their pre-wed shoot at the venue so I could take a look around!

The day of wedding arrived and it was due to be a very warm and sunny day - perfect to enjoy the beautiful garden.

Of course, first came the ceremony which took place in the lovely Italian Garden, a space that is under-cover but open all down one side. It’s a beautiful space which is decked out with fairy lights and festoon lights. I have to admit though that with the bright sunlight behind me, pointing my camera into the dark area where the guests were seated (as pretty as it was with all of the fairy lights) was definitely challenging!

Vows spoken, rings exchanged and register signed, Penelope and Oli led their guests out into the main garden to enjoy their drinks whilst listening to the sounds of a three-piece steel drum band. It was all very lovely and relaxed.

Formal photos out of the way (which I decided to undertake in the shade much to the relief of the guests!), it was time for the wedding breakfast where I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I had been included on the table plan! A lot of thought had gone into the table decorations with Oli having laser cut each and every table centre in a geometric pattern complete with lights. They were the perfect accompaniment to the amazing wedding cake which was actually made by Penelope herself!

After some amusing speeches, it was time for the evening reception and what a party it turned out to be! With music provided by The Shadow Monkeys, the dance floor was constantly full. It was a real shame to drag myself away at the end of the night!

Below you will find a small selection of photos from the day. To view the full gallery, please head here (the password can be obtained from Penelope or Oli).
