Hare and Hounds, Tetbury - Beth and Robert

Beth and Robert got married on the first day of June at the Hare and Hounds Hotel near Tetbury.

I hadn’t actually met Beth and Robert prior to the wedding as all communication had been done online but I knew that their day was going to be special. They had actually booked me because I had previously provided some camera training for Beth’s sister so I have to say a huge thank-you to her for recommending me!

Beth had asked me to arrive in time to take some final preparation photos. It was really lovely to be able to spend a few minutes with her, her bridemaids and her three lovely daughters - one of them even presented me with a glass of prosecco not long after I arrived with a cheery “this is for you”! It certainly made me feel very welcome!

Prep photos captured (including a heart-meltingly cute moment where Rob came over to help his girls with their dresses), I headed back over to the main building to photograph the ceremony.

Beth and Robert had invited their closest friends and family to join them on this special day. It was a real family affair with Rob accompanied by his sister as “Best Woman” and Beth escorted by her brother as she walked up the aisle. But it was when the three girls made their entrance that you could see everyones faces light up - they looked so excited to be making their way up to their Dad patiently waiting at the front.

After an intimate ceremony which included readings from the three girls and also from one of the bridesmaids, it was time to head outside for confetti. I always thought that the front of the hotel would make the perfect backdrop for a confetti shot yet this was the first wedding where I managed to do it! Always such fun!

The rest of the drinks reception evaporated in a haze of congratulatory hugs, formal photos, bubble blowing, and jenga so, with it being such a nice day, we decided to push the couples portraits back until after the wedding breakfast.

With lots of kids attending the wedding they had told me that they were perhaps doing things a little differently and so the wedding breakfast (and hence the evening party) were all starting a little earlier than I suppose would be typical.

After some emotional speeches, we took a wander to capture some more romantic couples photos but not before spending a few lovely minutes with just Beth, Robert and the three girls.

After a whistle-stop jaunt around the venue, we headed back for the evening party but, first of course, came the first dance. I wasn’t expecting it to turn into a fun, choreographed number but when their three daughters joined them on the dance floor for the end of the routine I just melted - it was so cute!

After another 45 minutes of capturing the fun on the dance floor, it was time for me to say my goodbyes and leave Beth, Robert and their family and friends to party the night away.
