Grittleton House - Natasha and Matt
Natasha and Matt were yet another couple who had been on a huge rollercoaster of a wedding journey. By my reckoning, they were on their 3rd wedding date after having to postpone a number of times for various reasons (Covid included!). Their wedding cake topper summed it up perfectly with a simple statement… “finally”!
I arrived to find Natasha getting ready in the Drawing Room alongside her Mum, Sisters and Bridesmaids. I managed to document some of their preparations before I headed downstairs to photograph the ceremony room and discretely take pictures of the guests arriving.
Apart from stating that she wanted a photograph of her Mum walking her down the stairs and that she would also like some photos with the kids, Natasha and Matt were very relaxed when it came to having any formal photos. It was really lovely to be able to float around the venue capturing all of the interactions between their guests and document all of the goings-on interspersed with the occasional formal photo as and when it was requested. I have to admit that with so many children at the wedding I was kept pretty busy! They were constantly providing opportunities for photos. Between the cheeky poses and poked-out tongues (occasionally instigated by me!) I managed to capture photos of them playing croquet, exploring the grounds and generally having fun.
All in all it was a beautiful and emotional day - it was so emotional in fact that I twice found myself jumping behind the camera to hide my misty eyes! The first time was when Natasha and Matt made special promises to each other during the ceremony and the second time was during the speeches. Speaking of which, once the speeches were complete (including some poignant words from many of the children) it was time to say my goodbyes and leave them to their celebration.
