September has been a busy month on the wedding front and Fiona and Iso’s celebration was probably my biggest event of the year.

Their celebration was to be a fusion of British and Nigerian traditions and with many friends and family travelling from afar, they had booked the amazing Grittleton House for the entire weekend and had asked me to document the Friday drinks reception as well as the events taking place on the wedding day itself. Being such a large event they had also asked me to provide a second photographer for the day of the wedding and I was very happy to have Libby join me.

Drinks reception photographed, I left them to their celebrations before returning the next morning to photograph Fiona’s preparations. The house was a hive of activity as the guests assembled to be transported to the Church by coach. Sending Libby on ahead to the church with the guests, I remained behind to photograph Fiona leaving the house with her Dad before hot-footing it across to the Church myself (HUGE thanks to Mr F for being my chauffeur!).

It was a beautiful, emotional ceremony and, following a confetti exit, we were all soon on our way back to Grittleton to celebrate.

My first task – to gather all of the guests upon their arrival (and there were a lot of them!)  for a group photo in the Italian Garden. Fiona’s Dad swiftly handed me a microphone so that I could organise everyone – the first time that’s happened to me at a wedding!  I then launched into the smaller formal groups safe in the knowledge that Libby was capturing lots of candid images of the rest of the guests.

Next up came the wedding breakfast and, thankfully, I had been forewarned that the bridesmaids, groomsmen and the happy couple themselves were going to be dancing into the reception room. It was such a lot of fun and an amazing moment to document!

Food eaten and speeches done, the guests were then treated to a Ceilidh led by none other than Fiona’s Dad himself (it was then that I realised why he was so quick to have a microphone to hand me earlier in the day!). With a room almost full to bursting the guests seemed to be having a lot of fun hop-stepping, dosey-doeing and swinging their partners but it was soon time to cut the cake before Fiona and Iso took to the floor for their first dance.

Needless to say it was a rather EPIC day which was reflected in the huge number of images that I edited for their gallery!
