Claire and Pux - Conygree Farm

Claire and Martin (better known as Pux!) booked me after seeing me photograph their friends wedding. They wanted a photographer that was going to be discreet, blend into the background and document their day without too many posed photos. Absolutely my type of couple!

Taking place at their local Church in the Cotswolds followed by a reception at Conygree Farm, I met up with them a few weeks before the wedding so that they could show me around and talk me through all of their plans. The rain that day was torrential - so much so that I had to borrow a pair of wellies in order to walk across the field to take a look around the Tipi! We joked that if it was raining that day, it wouldn’t rain on the day of the wedding.

Of course, that didn’t quite happen!

On the day of the wedding, it rained! Many of the guests arrived with their umbrellas in tow and Claire’s plans to walk from the Cottage to the Church were understandably changed at the last minute.

They say that having rain on your wedding day is lucky and, by the time the ceremony had finished, the clouds had started to disperse meaning that they were able to make their exit in the dry and be whisked away by the Landrover that Pux had arranged to collect them!

After a brief pause at the Cottage for some photos - by this time, in bright sunshine - it was just a short drive on to Conygree Farm where the Tipi had been completely transformed with masses of flowers (all homegrown by Claire and her friends) as well as hundreds of metres of bunting (literally) handcrafted out of the old clothes of family and friends. Combined with their cake (created by another friend), a number of wooden sculptures and the obligatory fairy lights, it all looked truly magical!

It was a beautiful, relaxed and fun-filled day made all the more special by a brief visit from their dog, Skye, who was definitely rather excited to see everyone!

Unfortunately, the rain wasn’t quite done with us! After giving us ample time to take some formal photos and enjoy the tranquil surroundings, it returned briefly towards the end of the wedding breakfast. However, with the sun still shining they combined to create the most amazing rainbow! A lovely end to what had been an amazing day.
