Cari-Ann and Alex - Grittleton House
After a bit of a delay thanks to Covid, Cari-Ann and Alex were finally able to get married at the beautiful Grittleton House.
I arrived to find Cari-Ann and her bridal party in full swing with their preparations. After an emotional dress reveal to the Father-of-the-Bride (which involved him having to step back out of the room to compose himself!) it was time for their ceremony. Taking place in the Orangery, it’s a lovely setting which feels outdoor but benefits from being under cover and protected from the breeze. As you’ll see from the pictures below, Cari-Ann was one of the smiliest Brides ever - there didn’t seem to be a moment when she wasn’t smiling from ear to ear. During her entrance she looked soooo excited!
It was an amazing day filled with fun, frolics and some pretty memorable speeches. With Cari-Ann being welsh, the Best Man’s speech included the inevitable reference to “Bangor”. I’ve heard this joke many times over the years so I was happy to hear him put his own twist on it. But what I wasn’t expecting was the reaction. It started as a slow wave of giggles as people realised what he had said and culminated in the Mother-of-the-Bride in full blown tears-in-her-eyes laughter which, in turn, made the rest of the room laugh all over again. Definitely a stand out moment! The Best Man’s speech ended with the appearance of two unexpected special guests - two garden gnomes swiped from the Bride and Groom’s garden!
Later in the day, as a surprise for their guests, Cari-Ann and Alex had booked some singing waiters to entertain their guests during the wedding breakfast. It was all very cloak and dagger with the singers posing as real waiters right up until the dessert was served. After dropping an ice bucket (accidentally on-purpose) to draw everyones attention, the waiters finally burst into song and had everyone on their feet singing and dancing along. It definitely got the party started and made for some brilliant photos!
The evening was rounded off with a brilliant choreographed first dance and some more emotional scenes when Cari-Ann and Alex invited their parents to join them on the dance floor.
