Amy and Sean - Bowood Hotel
Amy and Sean were yet another couple who had suffered postponements a-plenty. With their original ceremony due to take place in November 2020 it was pushed back, not just once, but twice.
I was therefore more than happy to meet up with them a few weeks before the wedding to go over all of the final plans as I hadn’t seen them since way back in February 2020 when we met up for their pre-wedding photoshoot! It was so lovely to catch back up with them and hear all about their final plans for the day.
On the wedding day itself, I arrived early to capture Amy’s preparations. There was lots of hustle and bustle with the bridesmaids all getting ready as well as Amy’s parents arriving towards the end of the morning.
One thing that Amy and Sean were keen on having was photographs of them both prior to the ceremony. I therefore called upon Mark who I had worked alongside at a number of weddings previously. I knew that his discreet, calm and quiet approach was just perfect to help me document Amy and Sean’s special day.
Knowing that Mark was on hand at the venue to capture the arrival of the guests, I was able to take my time grabbing some photos of Amy and her Dad departing from the house before making my own way up to Bowood. The team at Bowood are always organised and, as I arrived, I waved at Ella (the wedding co-ordinator) to let her know that the Bride was on her way.
After a beautiful ceremony, that included a unique “sand ceremony” (a first for me), we headed out onto the terrace for confetti and the obligatory formal photos. I was then able to whisk Amy and Sean off for some portraits up at the Golden Gates - pretty much a necessity if you are getting married at Bowood!
Once everyone had taken their seats for the wedding breakfast, it was time for the speeches where I was surprised and really touched to not only receive a thank-you but also a beautiful bunch of flowers - so kind!
The evening celebrations saw even more personalisation as Amy and Sean decided to include a Father-Daughter dance as well as a Mother-Son dance before everyone was invited onto the dancefloor to properly get the party started!
